SA DESIGNERS FOR EDGARS: NAKED APE

Model turned designer Shaldon Kopman is the creative genius behind Naked Ape; a sartorial fashion house and consultancy, Shaldon’s current core focus, was established in 1998 but only came to life in 2005. Shaldon established a niche market due in part to the lack of well fitted, quality and affordable menswear
garments leading to his bespoke service. It has been a challenging and rewarding task refining and sourcing skilled tailors, and appropriate designers to bring this vision to life. He has arrived and it’s has been a remarkable journey thus far with so much knowledge gained and so much more to come. The key to success is built on understanding, patience, love and respect for his co-workers as together they craft
fine attire for their appreciative valued clients. Here's a sneak peak at the collection that will be available at Edgars.

SA DESIGNERS FOR EDGARS: ROMAN HANDT

Roman Handts Denim Collection; Available At Edgars
Graduating from LISOF in 2000, Roman Handt has worked as a tailor and pattern maker both internationally and locally with small, highly niched companies focused on quality and craftsmanship. Two important things he brings to his own eponymous label ‘Roman Handt’ which was launched at a glittering event in 2011.
Having seen his clothes on both industry leaders and style mavens around the hot-spots of Jo’burg, the typical ‘Roman Handt’ wearer is introduced luxurious combinations of fabrics not found in the mainstream South African market. His clothes, though exquisitely designed and tailored, are for everyday use and not just for special occasions usually associated with personal or custom tailored garments.
